According to the excerpt, communication and critical thinking are correlated. Miscommunication in a company will cause a great impact on their revenue. As mentioned in the excerpt “If communication is defined as a meaningful exchange of information, thoughts and feelings between two living creatures, critical thinking is the engine that provides this meaning.” From this sentence, I understood that to have a successful communication, the elements of critical thinking must be engaged to provide clarity and avoid miscommunication and misunderstanding. If clarity is absent in a communication, the purpose of communicating will be meaningless. A leader must be able to clearly express his or her opinion to their colleagues to successfully execute a plan. A leader must be able to communicate with their colleagues and make decisions as a team to fully benefit the company. Hence, I feel that communication and critical thinking are important skills a leader must get themselves equipped with.
